Re: command shell window: start it as admin via user menu F9
Here's a vbs script to start a cmd shell with admin rights from the user menu: Set objArgs = WScript.Arguments startfolder = objArgs(0) Set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application") objShell.ShellExecute "cmd.exe", "/k pushd " & startfolder, "", "r...

Re: W7 - ; in Change Drive Menu
I'm sorry but I don't get it. The only difference between XP and Vista/Win7 is that in XP the Music/Pictures/Videos folders are subfolders of "My Documents" by default and that cannot be changed without registry editing or tools like TweakUI. In Vista and Windows 7 these folders are on the...

Re: Go to upper directory by dbl click
Not to forget the "Parent Directory" button in the top toolbar or in the middle toolbar.

Re: Hide drive letters
Sure, the hiding of drive letters would interfere with the "commander style" of keyboard shortcuts. But on the other hand, if a user choses to not be bothered with drive letters, why not accept that? He might be more of a mouse user anyway. And he has to live with the consequences of non-u...

Re: AS251 & 252 - Creating Directory
I think a polite hint like "Please enter a directory name" would be the best in this situation.
Or even better the OK-button could be enabled only when the input field is not empty, therefore preventing a mistake.

Re: Network Plugin: Remote shell
It seems like you are challenging me
Anyway, I did some registry hacking to get a solution for me: I added a custom entry in the folder context menu.

Re: Alt+F7 problem if dot in search string
It says "adding point at the end of the mask" but in fact the substring search seems to be prohibited if there is a point in the mask at any position.

Re: Network Plugin: Remote shell
Yes, and the User Menu has to be enabled (it is disabled now when the network plugin is in the active panel).

Network Plugin: Remote shell
For remote maintenance I often use psexec to open a remote command shell on other network computers. It would be great if the network plugin would allow the use of the user menu so a menu entry could be created to do this. Additionally, could a remote shell instead of a local one be opened on Num / ...

Localized Help?
Now that the official localization of Salamander is coming nearer the question comes to my mind if the help files will also be translated?

File permissions dialog
While testing the German translation of Salamander 2.52 I noticed that this issue is still there, running now under German version of Windows 7 Ultimate RTM.
But, if the command simply opens the Windows properties dialog, the question is if it is of any use at all.

Re: Unofficial German Localization for Altap Salamander 2.52
Hier noch einige Änderungsvorschläge: Plugins/Pictview/Thumbnails aktualisieren: Sollte "Thumbnails" nicht ebenfalls übersetzt werden, z. B. in "Vorschaubilder"? Befehle/Verzeichnisse vergleichen: Die beiden Sätze "Verzeichnisse mit unterschiedlichen Inhalt werden ausgewählt...

Re: Service Explorer Plugin
Under Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (German) there is one service that is listed only when Salamander is run as admin. It is called "Heimnetzgruppen-Listener" ("Homegroup Listener" I guess in English), part of the new Homegroup feature of Windows 7.

Re: Unofficial German Localization for Altap Salamander 2.52
