Re: Is Salamander dead?

I've used this great tool for over a decade, quite sad for my ever-enduring optimism to die like this. I seriously doubt a construction firm as any interest in developing a file manager! First of all it's not a construction company but a software company developing structural engineering sof...

Other requests and bugfixes had higher priorities among the users so unicode was put in the freezer. Obviously I was thrilled when the developers annou...

vulnerability in UNACEV2.DLL

There's a security vulnerability in UNACEV2.DLL library. The vulnerability makes it possible to create files in arbitrary folders inside or outside of destination folder when unpacking ACE archives. UNACEV2.DLL had not been updated since 2005 so it's best to drop ACE archive format support. It comes...

Re: Issue with PictView Being Tied to Current Folder

Actually you can open two PictView (PV) instances for each AS instance. Each panel pointing at different directories allows you to open two PV screens. Once you switch to another directory, pressing F3 a third PV instance shows up leaving the other one stuck with the last opened image unable to scro...

Re: Any news? Any upcoming version?

Unicode is more complicated than expected (see troubles with basic support for RTL texts above). Plus everything complicated by support for long paths (32k chars = small stack for recursions, too long text of all error messages with included paths, etc.). Plus GDPR, taxes and other bureaucracy. I d...
