Re: CVS-overlay-icons etc.

Agree with Roman & Torsten: (tortoise) CVS specific icons for CVS-controlled files and folders would be very helpful. For now still need to use the windows explorer to manage CVS-data.

Tortoise SVN (CVS) uses Overlay Icons -- special type of Windows Explorer Shell Extension. Overlay Icons are not supported by Servant Salamander, we have this problem on ALTAP Roadmap: http://www.altap.cz/salam_en/newver.html#roadmap

CVS-overlay-icons etc.

I aggree with roman, that its important that servant salamander can show the (tortoise) CVS specific entries for CVS-controlled files and folders. For now i still need the windows explorer to manage CVS-data.

Greetings, Torsten Blank

It's fixed. Context menu for panel background contains items from shell extensions (e.g. TortoiseSVN) now. Moreover we have added Paste Shortcut command. So this menu already seems complete now.

Context menu on panel background

... But if I right-click on the panel background, I don't get these. Specifically, I'd like the TortoiseSVN items to come up. I constantly have to go back up a directory to do SVN check-in's and updates. This was OK in 2.0, but stopped working ...

No shell extension icons - tortoisesvn

http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ It adds custom icons onto existing ones, when setting a directory as checkout dir. I'm not sure how they do it, but it probably uses some shell extension. These icons doesn't appear under SS. Is ...

Salamander displays standard link overlay icon for directories with FILE_ATTRIBUTE_REPARSE_POINT attribute. Icon overlays which are used e.g. by Tortoise CVS are not supported yet, we have it on our to-do list.

I hope this is sooner than later, it's the one thing i wish salamander could do that it doesn't! We use TortoiseSVN @ work and it makes heavy use of icon overlays. So, consider my interest expressed (for what it's worth)! I wouldn't even mind seeing this slipped into the final ...
