It seems that my problem went away after updating Parallels, Windows etc.
However, I'm going to x-check with the WhatIsHang tool to see if there is something suspicious. Overall the VM is very low-profile with mostly nothing installed.

3.06 hanging after seconds in Win-10 Virtual Machine (OSX)
Hi, I run Win-10 (pro Insider View 10532) in a Parallels VM on OSX 10.10.5 Either the 64 or 32 bit version hang after several minutes. I need to kill the process and restart Salamander. This was not the case some time ago. Could this be caused by a Win-10 update? By a Parallels update? I really don'...

OSX & Parallels / Can't start files from network path
Hi, I use Win-10-TP-10061 on a Parallels VM running on OSX. I'm using the parallels shared folders, which lead to paths like this one: \\psf\Host\Volumes\Daten\windows\d\develop\rm-asset\nlpp\build From Explorer I can start files just by double-clicking them, from Salamander it's not working. Nothin...

Re: Salamander (and alternatives) for Mac OS X
I vote for a OSX port as well. Salamander would be the killer-app filemanager for OSX.
To Altap staff: The OSX market is a good one. People are much more willing to pay for software than on Windows.
Please, go for OSX.

Plugins: Nag screen for PictView and WinSCP
Hi, since some time I get some license nag screens for PictView and WinSCP plug-in. I read in an other thread, that there will be a license update. But the information was not very clear. My questions are: 1. Do I need a new license for these plugins from Altap or do I have to buy something, even as...

Filecompare Plug-In: Use selected file by default
Hi, when using the file-compare plug-in via a short-cut the file selection dialog should be preset with the filename from the side where the selectio bar is, and if a file with the same name exists in the other pane, than with the path to this file. With this file comparision would be a lot faster a...

Filter: Selection
Hi, when using the compare directory function, it would be nice to filter the filelist in a way that only the selected (hence difference) files are shown.
Adding an option to the filter dialog: By selection.

Robby, to verify whether Jan's idea is correct or not, could you please do the followig test? Just copy the folder with installed Salamander from the D: drive to the virtual VM's drive. Then suspend and restore the VM session. Does Salamander vanish as well as it would vanish if it was loaded from ...

My idea: when you start Salamander (or another application) from the network drive or USB drive and then broke network connection or remove USB stick, the running process just vanish. You can minimize application, broke connection, and restore it to reproduce this problem. Hi, yes, this fits with m...

Problem with VMWare
I'm using several VMWare systems on my laptop to seperate different usage scenarios. As I want to use Salamander within the VMWare systems as well, I installed it on my drive D on my laptop system. All VMWare's drive D are mapped to the laptop's drive D. Hence, I have the same structure on the files...
