Instead of going into Quick Rename and copying the full file name, select the file and press [Alt]+[Shift]+[Insert].

That "Do you want to cancel this operation?" dialog doesn't understand [Esc] key as "No." That wouldn't be too bad if it didn't pass the keypress to the parent dialog. So, if I try to chase it away with [Esc] it does nothing, but then when I click "No" button, I'm once ...

Not useless if it'll let us find the process that locked a certain file.

I simply gave up and use Process Explorer with "Replace Task Manager" feature enabled.

Salamander doesn't handle files with a space at the end of extension properly. If I try to delete a bunch of these files it'll say system cannot find the file specified but I can delete 'em one by one.

Also, if I have two files, one without the space behind extension and one with that space ...

I've found a strange behavior...

When I copy/move files to another location, if I modify the "*.*" to something like "A*.*" I loose the first character of the filename in the process, instead of Salamander appending a character to the original name.

this one should also be pretty easy to implement. If I select only one directory/file and want to copy/move it to another directory you could pre-fill the appropriate dialogs with the selected entry's name instead of appending "*.*" to destination path.

when I'm going back/forward through the history if one of the browsed directories is missing I get a "Error Changing Directory" dialog. Now, while I appreciate the fact that you guys catch all exceptions this dialog is not of all that much use. You should simply skip to the next history entry ...

Maybe a "new" dialog that'd only display the filename? With a new shortcut? [Shift]+[F2]?

Or, maybe a better idea, display filename and extension in separate textboxes and preselect the contents of the first textbox (filename)? User could simply [Tab] into the next textbox and extension would be ...

Is this what you're looking for? Short example listing:
So you could make a list of all found directories/files with their full paths.

This should be solved once Altap guys enable us to find files/directories and "redirect" the matching results into panels. That way you could [Alt]+[F7] search for *.* through a certain directory, redirect the results into a panel and then make a file list of everything.
