Re: Is Salamander dead?
Now it's their software and they can do whatever they want with it, but yeah letting such a great software die because you don't want to make it open source it's really a sad thing. Now I would love to work on it even under NDA, but unfortunately Jan didn't contact me until now. I still having high ...

Re: Is Salamander dead?
Hi Jan
I tried to PM you, but the forume denied it. Anyway just asking if there is any info on the NDA, so that maybe I could start pimping the Salamander a little bit?
Best regards
Waldemar

Re: Is Salamander dead?
I hope that the idea of the private git repositories and NDA would give external programmers like me a chance to pimp the program a little and maybe in time replace all the open source blocking code. And maybe then FINE would be ok to open source it... I'm not saying that it would as the code is the...

Hi Jan
Yeah it's not a problem. On my end I'm on vacations in the middle of August.
Looking forward to do some helping again.
Best regards

Re: Is Salamander dead?
Hi Jan Old sources are not a problem for me as my speciality is renewing the old codes... more or less for all the companies I work for at the end I'm a very expensive cleaning lady. ;) .. cleaning old code and replacing it with new and shiny one. Now the GSL/code guidelines are a good thing, WIL lo...

Re: Is Salamander dead?
Hi Jan For me Salamander is THE tool that I can not live without. It's the first and the last application that I run and turn off. Now I would definitely invest some hours every month to the development of AS if it would be an open source project. One example that I've done open source stuff is back...

Re: Is Salamander dead?
Until program is alive I really don't care even if you take another year. Now there are some corner cases now happening with Win10 which would be nice to be fixed, but there are ways around it.
Thanks again for the support.

Re: Is Salamander dead?
Hi Jan The problem is only that we are panicking as there is no info on one of the best tools we use and we REALLLY don't want it to die. :D Please do the payable 4-th version so that you'll get some money into the firm and then do a yearly payable license upgrades as for example TheBat which is a r...

Re: Is Salamander dead?
Still alive... good to know.
I understand how development goes (been programmer for 30+ years) and I completely understand that converting Local to Unicode is a !#!@#@!#.
Keep up the good project.

Is Salamander dead?
Hi guys There is so little news lately that it looks to me like Salamander is dead, not developed anymore. I know money is always the issue and from my side I have no issue paying for an updated license... i.e. if you (finally) update AS to Unicode support and said that it's a version 4.0. Most of t...

Yes thank you for the new release and looking forward for the WinSCP 64bit version (hopefully Martin will upgrade it).. it's the only reason I still have 32bit version installed.

Re: Tabbed Panels
I definitely vote for tabs as I normally have up to 3 salamanders opened and it's annoying to move files from one to others. I've tried the history menu, but it's not working as it should (a lot of time the directory is missing or finding just the right one in the list is extremely hard). For me the...
