Re: Hangs moving folders on same drive

Thanks for the registry hacks. Although these may have an effect with standard Defender, it isn't the same when InTune is involved. It is all managed from the Azure portail via policies so the only thing you can do is either set exclusions in the Intune policies or disable the service using somethin...

Re: Hangs moving folders on same drive

It is Defender that is causing the problem.
The difficulty is that Defender is integral to Microsoft Intune so to disable it is not simple.
Anyway, at least I now know that it isn't Salamander.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Hangs moving folders on same drive

Understand about the Salmon process. Because the large files are ISO images that are being compressed to 7z files, I am suspisious of Windows InTune(Defender). I think it may be scanning these 7z files when they are being accessed to be deleted. I have temporarily stopped the MpMPEng.exe service to ...

Re: Hangs moving folders on same drive

I will give WhatisHang a go and see what I find. I wasn't aware of the Salamandar Task list so I will explore that to. I have been using 3.08 on the same machine from its release without any issues. The source and destination are both a physical disk on the local machine but it is a RAID array using...

Hangs moving folders on same drive

With 4.0, if I move folders from one location to another on the same drive, it works fine for a while and then the next attempt appears to hang. If I press the Cancel button on the Move dialog, I get the dialog asking if I wish to cancel etc. If I click yes, the Move dialog remains and the move proc...

Re: 1450 Insufficient system resources

Update: I now have a situation where it works most of the time but why? Between my last update and now, we have had a complete network shutdown and restart due a power outage and there have been some minor Windows updates although I suspect that things may have improved since the network restart. As...

Re: 1450 Insufficient system resources

More information: I have now found that my laptop also suffers from the same problem in exactly the same way so this suggests that it isn't a machine specific problem. The only thing that has changed on the laptop is the September Microsoft Security updates so it is suggesting that one of these are ...

Re: 1450 Insufficient system resources

Unfortunately, I have tried both of these already without any luck. I am at a total loss.

Re: 1450 Insufficient system resources

Sorry, I had forgotten to try a new profile. So, I created a new local machine user and added them to the local Administrators group. I then switched user and logged in as this new user and then load Salamander. It obviously began by setting up the new Salamander settings. :) It still failed with th...

Re: 1450 Insufficient system resources

As my C: only has 15Gb free and my D: has 420Gb free, I did as you suggested but use D: as the location of the page file. I set it to be system managed rather than a fixed size. Rebooted and tested it but no difference. BTW, the pagefile.sys was allocated about 8Gb. My X: drive is used solely for th...

Re: 1450 Insufficient system resources

Thanks for your suggestions SelfMan. I had previously tried setting the PoolUsageMaximum and the PagedPoolSize before but just in case, I tried it again with a reboot and before anything loading any other apps (within reason) I tested Salamander and it still didn't work. The machine as 32Gb of Ram a...

Re: 1450 Insufficient system resources

I have tried a number of things. I have tried disabling all the shell extensions that have been installed in the last month or so with no luck. I have tried uninstalling all of the SQL 2014 and VS 2013 components and shells with no luck. I have reinstalled SQL 2014 SSMS and VS 2015 and still no luck...

1450 Insufficient system resources

I have recently started getting an error "(1450) Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service" when I attempt to browse for network shares. This problem exists for all servers but I do not get the error if I put the full \\server\sharename in. Browsing for network shares in ...

Re: Extended characters in filenames prevents copy

Being a developer myself, I can understand that you have to stick to the roadmap. However, it is hugely disappointing as this has been a problem for sometime in the previous versions and I was really hoping to have this solved in 3.0.

Re: Extended characters in filenames prevents copy

Do I assume from this that it will be corrected sometime before the final release of v3.0?
