Another way to do realy quick searching:

- as first step - scan the MFT for filenames
- 2nd - check for correct information
- 3rd - do other "Find" routines with the found files

(this is the method used in std. Windows searchpanel)

Hi again... What i mean is some sort of index-database in which the Filesystemtree is prestored so find could be mutch faster. I'am doing this kind of thing at my Fileserver-Raidsystem with hundred thousands of files for some time now and it rocks... i dont have to wait minutes and minutes anymore t...

Pack/Unpack Statuswindow - Why not handled like Copy/Move?

I sometimes have really BIG archives to handle and its annoying to wait till every single pack/unpack process is complete to be able to get on with work in SS. Why dont you solve it just like the independent copy/move windows instead of the SS-locked-because-of-childwindow-thing? my solution for now...

hm.. for me F3 is "view the file" and it wont work ... w2k sp4 explorer shows also the "?" but u can simply rename the unicode chars there

hi... after the first time this safetywindow appears my pc(amd) wont shut down completely anymore (poweroff). it was the first time i saw the "now u can turn ur pc off" message in w2k. but it wont return to normal shutdown&poweroff anymore. how can i revert this? besides the dont-show-...
