My ASx64 failed startup shows up in my ASx86 Task List as "PID 7996".
Ah, so it does.
(My mistake. I ran x86 sandboxed, Sandboxie, & x64 not. Should have run both either normally or sandboxed.)
In that case, you can use the working x86 to generate a Bug Report of the x64 instance.

Re: AS 3.02 x64 fails to start
My thought (without testing) was that maybe x86 could see x64 in Help | Task List...
But it seems it cannot.
Is that something that is possible to implement for a situation like this?
My ASx64 failed startup shows up in my ASx86 Task List as "PID 7996".
Did you install someplace "special"?

Re: AS 3.02 x64 fails to start
Could you find the frozen Salamander in Task Manager, right click it, select Create dump file and upload it somewhere?
Note: I'm not sure if this particular dump is going to be useful (I've heard about some issues with Task Manager dump on 64-bit Windows), but I'd say it's a good start.

AS 3.02 x64 fails to start
My AS 3.02 x64 fails to start-up, under Windows 7-64; I've uninstalled/re-installed; installs OK, but then still freezes on the start-up screen: "initializing data." So, I installed AS x86, and it loads and runs OK. Also, Windows Explorer works OK, including context menu. I had some issues with ...

Re: Can't load Adobe Reader PDF's in Salamander
Disabling antivirus didn't help, but disabling Adobe Reader Protected Mode (PM) eliminated the problem. I wonder, however, how dangerous it is to work all the time with PM turned off?

Can't load Adobe Reader PDF's in Salamander
I can run *.exe files and others in Salamander 3.0 (x64) under Win.8.1 OK; but PDF files will not load in Adobe Reader from AS (I re-installed Reader; did not help). PDF files will run, however, either from Reader itself or from Explorer. This is a new install of AS of mine, in Win.8.1--using good ...

Re: Start Program in Salamander Issue
OK, I uninstalled AS, and deleted my old Configuration from registry upon reinstalling AS. Then, with the AS default configuration loaded, both double-clicking and typing <enter>, once again, worked properly, for the purpose of starting up files/programs as usual.
I saved out the default (i.e., AS ...

Re: Start Program in Salamander Issue
can you check behavior in MS Explorer? It's mentioned in the original post.
Yes, the issue only occurs in Salamander, not in MS Explorer.
What kind of file is it? What extension? Maybe it's a registered extension in Archives Associations in Panels?
Just a wild guess...
The problem ...

Start Program in Salamander Issue
Normally, I can either type <enter> or double-click on a program that is listed in either pane of Salamander, and this will start the program. At present, however, this is not working (instead, to achieve the same result, I have to right click and choose "Open"). However, this same function (and, by ...
