An action log is actually the first step in implementing an undo function. The log would keep all of the necessary info about the action. Selections, old names, new names, from folder, to folder, etc. Sounds good. But I agree with SVA on leaving that stuff in the memory with the option to write it ...

YES, this is definitely possible to implement into Servant Salamander and it could be good replacement for frequently required Undo command, which is almost impossible to do. I mean log for ALL actions, including plugins operations, (unintenional) drag & drop, etc. Yeah, I was actually wonderin...

I can confirm this behavior. Alt Gr+Number triggers Hotpath.

But this happens ONLY if you are browsing in the left or right panel. In any other dialog window (search, create directory, move etc.) Alt Gr+8 leads to '[' (for example). It also works correctly if you are in the command line.

I dont disagree. But anyway, I think that an option to change the settings in the actual unzip dialog would be nice.

I suggest you activate the option and press DEL before ENTER if you don't want the subdir (Empty field = current dir). (Never tried 'Unpack to other pannel' option, so this might not work when it is activated.) Well...sounded nicer than it actually is. Using this method you basically disable anothe...

Automatic sorting (e.g. on Create new folder)

Hi, After creating a new folder (or unpacking an archive) the folder tree updates itself automatically according to the applied sort specification (by name, by date etc.). Now, sometimes this is a nice thing to have, but most of the time iI just prefer for the newly created folder or unzipped archiv...

It is not possible to shred particular (already) deleted file. Btw, interesting idea for the Undelete plugin :) There is command Plugins > Encrypt & Decrypt > Clean Disk Free Space which will shred all free space on given partition. Unfortunately it takes same time... Works like a charm. Thanks...

It appears to me that on minimizing Windows marks discardable and swappable memoryto be reused by other applications. The application will then, after some while receive some messages from the system. In order to process these, windows will have to swap in (or reuse from it's internal pool) the mem...

Hi,

would it be possible to also offer this option (Unpack to subdirectory named by archive) in the Unpack dialog itself instead of the Configuration settings?

Sometimes this naming scheme is very handy but sometimes I dont want the extra folder to be created.

Hi, So, I have looked further into the matter and this is what I found out: I unloaded all of the plugins, which changes the overall numbers around depending on how many plugins are loaded but the general behaviour is the same. The first picture shows the memory consumption in my Task Manager right ...

SS Memory consumption

Alrighty, here's a seperate thread. 8) This is about the memory consumption of SS. If I minimize the program to the task bar (right lower corner) the memory footprint goes down to about 900K (awesome!) but then after about 20 seconds it goes up to about 2-2.5 MB and stays there. Why is that? Specs: ...
