Re: UnRAR-DLL Plugin - has a critical security bug
Hi Sam, I assume you have a 64 Bit installation of Altap Salamander and you've put the 32 Bit UnRAR.dll in the plugin folder. That doesn't work. You have to use the file "UnRAR64.dll" (which is 346.200 Bytes on my system, Version 6.23.0), put it in the plugin folder and rename it to "...

Re: Unicode version (early preview)
No C++ Expert, but I'd like to contribute.... As soon as AS is on GitHub, I'll guess there will be many people who like to contribute!Jan Rysavy wrote: ↑22 Oct 2022, 22:19 Is there still anyone with a good knowledge of C++ who has the time and motivation to collaborate on an open source version of Salamander?

I'd like to see it at the top of the document... Or just above the import table...Jan Rysavy wrote:Where would you place this information? End of existing document?

PE Viewer Enhancement
Hi, I'd like to see an enhancement to the PE-Viewer. It would be so great if AS would also show what Windows displays if you right-click an executable, select properties and go to the Details-Tab. For example, if you press F3 on salamand.exe: Description: Altap Salamander, File Manager Type : Applic...

Manison,
please continue your work!!!! This is awsome! I'm looking forward for new / enhanced versions. I hope someday it will be possible to write a file system plugin (for SCP - so I can inally remove the 32 Bit Version of Salamander)....

Re: Context menus are closing automatically
FYI: For everyone who is interested about this - I've been able to find the reason (well.... not the reason at all, but the source of the problem)... It is the Jabber Client "Spark". I have Spark installed on my machine and running all the day. After I've killed Spark everything was well a...

Re: Context menus are closing automatically
Eh.... forget about this one....
I've rebooted my pc (it was running for several days) and now it works as expected.... Don't know what happened here... I'll come back to you if it will happen again and I'm really sure that it is an AS problem

Re: Context menus are closing automatically
Jan, thank you for the hint..... In the meantime I've noticed that my problem does not have anything to do with the shell extensions :-( It's (nearly?) every menu that gets closes automatically - the pull down drive list (ALT-F1 and/or ALT-F2) and even any other pull down menu that I open (i. e. &qu...

Context menus are closing automatically
All, I'm running AS 3.0 beta2 and my problem is that the context menu, that's shown after a right-mouse-click, is closing shortly (about a second) after it is displayed.... Well this problem does occur on AS 2.54, too - but not in Windows Explorer... I guess something is not working correctly with m...

PictView x64?
All, I've read that PictView "will be available in further beta version".... Could you estimate when it will be available? I'd like to give 3.0 a test drive (or better: use it as a 2.x replacement) but without PictView (i use it REALLY a lot).... no way ;-) Bye & keep up the good work!...

Re: What next? Vote please: x64 version or UAC support
Time line: we are still working on conversion of source code from Visual Studio 6 to Visual Studio 2008. Altap Salamander core is there, our own RTL is ready. Now we are working on plugins conversion (90 projects). As soon as whole Salamander will be converted do Visual C++ 2008, we will do first t...

Mask for external Editors

Re: Tabbed Browsing
It's a realy helpful function, each internet browser has it, why not your file manager? If you compare Web-Browsers with Filemanagers than you should have a look at http://firefly.mozdev.org/ ;-) Ok, but I'd also like to see a tabbed AS soon. AS is my "main tool" at work and I usually hav...
