Re: Hotkeys definable?
Not yet (except for Plugins). Most users would say "get used to it" :). There are so many keyboard shortcuts you can learn to be effective. Just hit F1 and open the "Shortcuts" > "Keyboard shortcuts" branch. FYI: for refresh use CTRL+R F5 is used in windows for refresh...

Hotkeys definable?
Are hotkeys definable in AS 3? I did have it installed for a while but forgot to check.
Most Windows apps now use F5 to refresh a view and I'm a bit tired of having to always remember the different key combination for AS so I'd like to change it.

Re: Why do you need my address?
I'm going to pass on upgrading for the time being. 2.5 is working well enough and I really am striving to not share unnecessary information. I don't get it. If the address field is mandatory and you don't want to share your real address, just put there some random address and everyone will be happy...

Re: Why do you need my address?
It would be probably possible for small orders (according to Czech accounting standards), but we don't plan to support this option for now because of small demand and required time to implement it. I'm sorry. I'm going to pass on upgrading for the time being. 2.5 is working well enough and I really...

Re: Why do you need my address?
We have switched from SWREG to PayPal for credit card payments processing and now we are issuing invoices at ALTAP. We are also preparing direct credit card payment gateway with https://www.paymill.com where we will also issue invoices ourselves. This is one reason why we are asking for your addres...

Why do you need my address?
I was about to purchase the upgrade licences for version 3.
I am going to pay using Paypal but the Address line in the form is mandatory. Why do you need my address?
I really don't like to give out personal info that isn't required.
Thanks

Re: Portable install?
Please let us know exactly why do you see (runtime/temporary) writing into registry as problem. Is there any part of the registry denoted by windows to hold temporary values, something that take the same role within the registry as does the TEMP directory in the file system? If there is, you may us...

Re: Portable install?
We have no experience with this, please give us more information. Here's some pseudo code which will show the idea. Reading values: -------------------- Instead of this: DWORD Type = REG_DWORD, Size = sizeof(DWORD); RegOpenKey((HKEY_CURRENT_USER, "Software\\Altap\\Altap Salamander 3.0 beta 3\\...

Re: Portable install?
We have no experience with this, please give us more information. Do you need to start Salamander on some protected computers where unknown applications (like Salamander) cannot write anything to registry? Or do you have some restrictions on registry keys? E.g. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software is OK, but...

Re: Portable install?
Also please look at http://forum.altap.cz/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3084 For me (as for otrov) anything that involves writing to the registry (even temporarily) is a non-starter. I'm a bit surprised it's a huge deal to switch from using the registry to using ini files. I've done it a number of times...

Re: Portable install?
Yes, I've tried one of them (or two?). They involved writing to the registry and removing the settings afterwards and didn't work that well for me.Ether wrote:There are several workarounds described somewhere around this forum. Just use the forum search and look for "portable".

Re: Portable install?
I would appreciate it. I'm searching for a portable app as a replacement in the meantime but nothing else is as good.Jan Rysavy wrote:I'm sorry, we will not be able to switch from Registry to INI file in AS 3.0. It can be possible in some minor update.

Portable install?
Will the new version have an easy option to run AS as a Portable install? I have most of my regular programs installed on a USB key which I move from system to system and the biggest missing piece is a good file manager. Currently I'm installing AS on all systems I use but it's a drag having to do t...

Re: Win7 and Windows Mobile device
You need to download & install the Windows Mobile Device Center (originally the ActiveSync SW): http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx Then you will be able to use the Salamander's WindowsMobile plugin again... Well, I have to eat my words. ...
