I've already initiated the second of your suggestions. I'm unfamiliar with WireShark; will have to check it out.

Using FTP to connect to http?

My client wants me to provide files at his FTP site, but it is set up to use a web browser (the URL begins with "http://" instead of "ftp://"). After that, it is a typical string and port designator. Is there a way I can use Salamander on this site? Thanks in advance for any help...

Re: How to see HTC One M8 Android phone in Salamander

Things have changed. Now, when I connect the phone to my computer, it defaults to HTC Sync Manager mode. For both V2.54 & V3.04, this is what happens when I try to use them: If I leave the phone in HTC Sync Manager mode, I cannot connect to the phone. It lists as a drive (G, in my case), but I c...

Undelete scope? Or just directions?

Undelete doesn't seem to be doing anything close to what I want. This may be related to the fact that I accidentally did a Quick Format of the entire drive instead of just a file or folder and would like to recover it, but even so... I opened Salamander in Administrator mode, invoked Undelete, then ...

Re: How to see HTC One M8 Android phone in Salamander

I now understand the problem, but don't know how to fix it. For some reason I do not understand, when I connect my phone to my computer, it comes up in Disk Drive mode when I use Salamander V2.54 and in HTC Sync Manager mode when I use V3.04 (both 32-bit and 64-bit). I can change the setting under U...

Re: How to see HTC One M8 Android phone in Salamander

The differences I see are between Salamander V2.54 and V3.04 (both 32-bit).

When I use V2.54, I see the files that are on the phone.

When I use V3.04, I see the files that I listed in the first post.

The phone's USB port is in Developer mode and has been unchanged for months.

Re: How to see HTC One M8 Android phone in Salamander

I just updated from Salamander V2.54 to V3.04 and am having a problem listing files on my HTC EVO 4G LTE (the Sprint-specific version of the HTC One S). With V2.54, I see the phone's internal memory (never figured out how to get to the external SD card's memory). With V3.04, the phone lists as devic...

Re: Portable Altap Salamander

This is a really nice idea :) and very useful. I've worked through the code and made some changes that I wanna share with you; mainly it's improvements in avoiding and handling of errors. There are 2 TODOs that you might want to take care of :) And if you dislike to get status commands, be them pur...

Re: Display number of items in directory?

When you select files, Salamander tells you how many have been selected.

Type <Ctrl>-A to select everything (or use the Numeric Keypad's '+' key to enter a selection wildcard) and Salamander will tell you how many files have been selected (also directories, if relevant).

Use on several computers?

I am a consultant who works on different computers at different locations. I would like to install Servant Salamander to a flash drive and have its power and convenience available to me wherever I go. The computers I work on typically have Windows XP. Is this possible? Thanks in advance for any help...
