Re: Troubles with internal ZIP Plugin

ITt tries to extract it to temporary path (which is then displayed in panel as zip content) thus exceeding 260 characters => therefore you see the error. Doen't make sense to me, because that would be one very poor implementation of "list archive files" function as you don't need to extract/decompr...

Re: Troubles with internal ZIP Plugin

10x for the info but the zip filename is pretty short -- 1.zip -- it's the zip contents that is causing troubles with the ZIP Plugin. For instance the ZIP Plugin (and 7-zip) takes care of illegal characters in filenames in the zip contents (e.g. ':', slashes, quotes are converted to '_') but apparen...

Troubles with internal ZIP Plugin

Hi, Here are a couple of .zip files that are problematic for Salamander's internal ZIP Plugin. This 1.zip is produced by Google Forms. Unfortunately the name of the online form is 380 characters long and Google's export data tool produces a 380 symbols filename for the CSV file inside the zip. On op...

Re: Copy Path + Name as Text (Alt+Insert) enhancements

Why would you expect the format to be one <whatever> per line? Why not separated by the locale's list separator, or quoted and separated by space, or separated by comma, or in OEM rather than in ANSI codepage or ... ? CSV files do have *line* separated records. The idea is this to be a "CSV file" w...

Copy Path + Name as Text (Alt+Insert) enhancements

The family of `Copy ... as Text` actions under `Edit` menu does not work as expected when multiple files are selected. If a selection is present in current pane (red rows) it would be very handy if all names/path+names are copied on separate lines in the clipboard. The same enhancement would be very...

Re: Side effects on attribs on deleting a read-only hardlink

. . . currently I'm afraid of slowdown of delete operation and do not want to spend time experimenting with this. The hardlinks enumeration has the potential to slow down deletion of *read-only files only*, provided that there is no need to restore other attributes after deletion for writable files...

Re: Shortcut: Shift+Right / Shift+Left

@SelfMan: The OP just wants to *focus* in the second pane on the file with the same name as the currently focused file in the first pane. No compare. No WinDiff. Just a need for a shortcut.

Yes, F9 is nifty shortcut.

cheers,

Re: Any news? Any upcoming version?

Is unicode support totally not getting in AS 3.07 release? FYI, `Find in files` direly needs UCS-2/UTF-8 support on searched files. The strange thing is that `File comparator` works fine with unicode even in AS 3.06. Frankly, I don't care about unicode filenames in direcotry panes or files in deep d...

Side effects on attribs on deleting a read-only hardlink

There is a a read-only file (e.g. under source control) and I make a hardlink to it with `c:\temp>mklink /h newname.txt c:\path\to\oldname.txt` so `c:\temp\newname.txt` hardlink inherits the read-only attribute which is an expected behavior. When any of the `newname.txt` attributes are changed with ...

Re: Shortcut: Shift+Right / Shift+Left

You can allways F2 on the file, CTRL+C to get the file name in the clipboard Or use `Alt+Shift+Insert` -> Insert the name of the focused file or directory to the clipboard What are you going to do with the two files? Compare them? `Compare Files` dialog already prepopulates second filename if same ...

AS cannot search for contents through a symbolic link

`Commands` -> `Find Files and Directories... (Alt+F7)` dialog has `Search file content` option with is supposed to search inside files contents. When there are symbolic links to files in a folder, the command is refusing to search inside contents of the file the symbolic link is pointing to. Steps t...

file:// protocol handling

In Windows Explorer one can open file:// URLs from address bar, something like file://server/c$/path/to is automagically "transcoded" to \\server\c$\path\to which is very convenient. I'm using Ctrl+V constantly in AS to navigate to files and folders and it would be great if I could just copy/paste f...

Yes, my fault. Reinstalling Chrome fixed the issue.

FYI, it was a "Class not registered" error on ShellExecute of any URL (and Salamander remained silent).
