Import v1.5 usermenu into v2.5 AFTER install.

Have been using v1.52 and v2.5 alongside each other for a while, and I want to update v2.5 with my current v1.52 usermenu (F9 key) items. I don't need to import anything else, just the usermenu. Any ideas how to achieve this? The obvious route of exporting/importing the registry key won't work as th...

On the network share issue I'd like to see a way to type a sharename instead of browsing, in Change Drive.

Windows' network-browsing capability is a bit iffy at the best of times, and generally not possible on Linux/samba servers, so having to rely on it is not ideal.

Look for Vice Versa Free on Snapfiles, this will do what you want.

Agree that it would be a useful Salamander feature though, particularly for checking the integrity of NAS or USB-disk backups.

Apologies, I had overlooked the difference in dialog title.

No bug, my mistake.

I'm more of a hardware guy than programmer, though I do maintan a small SF project as sideline. My experience on the hardware side, for what it's worth, is that most dissatisfied clients and botched-up jobs are a direct result of trying to beat ridiculous deadlines set by management. Typical example...

{resolved} File Copy behaviour 1.52/2.5

I mostly use 1.52 for file management. I have a registered 2.5 version, but from habit and familiarity I still mostly use 1.52. Recently I hit a difference in the behaviour of v2.5 which has the potential to cause data loss, hence thought I'd mention it here. In 1.52, if you merge two folder-structu...

Linux?

May have been asked before, but has anyone managed to get Salamander to work under Wine?

All I can get is a message about "Compatibility Mode" then a crash.

Need not be the latest version, if I could get 1.52 to work it'd keep my happy ;)

Re: Why do you use Salamander?

As an IT guy, most of the requests I get for tape restores are due to files lost through a simple, momentary loss of concentration when using Windows Explorer. Or, even just a speck of dust that jams the mouse momentarily -with no confirmation dialog for any operations except delete, one slip and th...

Just to come back to this, the issue isn't exactly esoteric if you've just spent a half-hour selecting files or folders to archive, or to create a CD compilation from. In that case, one moment of inattention (perhaps just thinking, "I wonder what version that file is, let's rightclick..." ...

Rightclick zaps selection

2.5 looks very good, congratulations coders.

One point, with a list of files or folders selected, right-clicking on the pane itself zaps the selection, with no way of recovering it.

I imagine this is a bug, can't see why anyone would want this to happen.
