Absolutely not necessary. I like your idea because it would provide a really quick and easy way of renaming a file.

This is a very useful tip. Lister32 nearly looks like the internal viewer and is integrated very well in Servant Salamander. I use it on first place in my list of alternate viewers so I can reach it easily with ALT+F3.
