All I can get is a message about "Compatibility Mode" then a crash.
Need not be the latest version, if I could get 1.52 to work it'd keep my happy

AFAICT Salamander works under WINE, some people could be even interested in getting AS to work better. Here are some threads:

There was mentioned a solution that the windows library 'shell32.dll' has to be copied into SS's directory, but I didn't try anything of it by myself, so I don't really know. Even if you make SS work under WINE, there's a lot that won't just work, because WINE provides only an emulation layer, where a lot of things are fake, hidden or stripped. Hope I'm right and didn't misinform you...
