When the shortcut is renamed (by you), it will not be uninstalled during upgrade. Yes but then if I did not rename it, it is deleted, which is annoying. As I said, if I am unsure I usually just uncheck the options in usual installations. If you want to prevent from having a misnamed link, wouldn't ...

shortcuts deleted in "upgrade" install

If you uncheck the options for creating shortcuts when installing over an old version, it actually seems to delete the already existing shortcuts! Is it a feature or a bug? In other install systems when you just uncheck these options it does not create new ones, leaving existing ones untouched. I us...

F3 & F4 could be used on folders if it was possible to associate a viewer to a folder rather than a file extension. For example, F3 on a folder could open the folder in an image viewing program, to actually "view" the folder contents. I do not know if this would have much interest, but...

Microsoft do not have large icons either for their toolbars in MSOffice, they just double the icon size :D It looks a little pixelated/blurred, but as it is mainly for screen with very small pixels and/or people that have a less sharp eye, I suppose that it is not a big problem.

Please let us know your CTFMON.EXE version and office version. Thanks! 5.1.2600.2180 XPSP2 EN with IE7 and Outlook 2002 (only Outlook, provided with my PocketPC, I do not have the whole Office suite). At work I have the same problem with full Office 2003 installed. On my virtual PC the problem occu...

Indeed if I kill CTFMON the problem seems to disappear... I suppose that this program was updated by the install of IE7?
I always saw it on all PCs, but it does not seem so useful in most of the cases: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282599

:? The question was about the text field, not the radio. In RC2 it opened like this: http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/794/image1dm0.png (edit: well, I should have selected the other radio button, but you see what I mean, the field contents was focused) In RC3 it opens like this: http://img171.imag...

That's what I was also going to say, so I agree: in all cases that field is the best to focus. The behaviour that you describe is what was already in previous version if I remember well.

Focused field in filter dialog

Hello,
I noticed an "annoying" change in RC3: when filter is enabled, the first focused field is the radio button.
In RC2 it was the text box, allowing to directly type the filter after having pressed Ctrl+F12.
Or maybe that this was previously considered as a "bug"?

I had the same error (I was planning to reboot later to try again, though that Salamander seems to work fine like that), on a XP SP2 in English.

For hourglass cursor yes, but not for normal one. And I doubt that this is related as I had the same problem in a VirtualPC machine with default cursors. So these messages are maybe not the reason of the delay/freeze... Or is there a problem in the way that Salamander changes the cursors? But maybe ...

Sorry for the delay.
I did that test: the problem is still there after having uninstalled IE7, as you said.
But as it appears when installing IE7, I guess that it is related to another system component updated by IE7?

Are there any circumstances when the delay appears more frequently? Just an idea: Do you have any desktop search software installed? It may cause the delays because it tries to catch up its file database.... It seems to happen only (but not all the time) when the operation is fast enough to not hav...
