Another tip  Alt+F5 (Pack) -> Down arrow Alt+F9 (Unpack) -> Down arrow selects the first item from history where is prepared path to the other panel. Depends on settings Options > Configuration > Archives [ ] Pack to other panel [ ] Unpack to other panel Haha. Once again a key exists for thin...

Re: Hide name of key file in Encrypt-Plugin
If I use a key file in the encrypt-plugin , the name of the last used key file will always be shown. There seems to be no way to turn off this behaviour in SS (plugin) configuration. :( In order to offer maximum security, a 'remember key file' or a 'show last keyfile' checkbox in the encryption dia...

Now consider if you pressed <backspace> three times and returned to the top directory wouldn't that be magic? A single key delivers full functionality! Ahh I see what you mean now. Yes I think it should automatically leave find mode if you press BACKSPACE when there is nothing to delete from the fi...

Re: User menu: Pass two filenames to external program
Hi, I use WinMerge (http://winmerge.sourceforge.net/) in my User Menu to compare two files, I use this quite frequently. I want to select two files, press F9 and select "compare with WinMerge". What I want is to pass the full filenames of both selected files as arguments to Winmerge, like...

Re: Registry Editor
"Search" feature is fine, but how 'bout "Search and replace"? I know that's inherently dangerous, but so's fiddlin' with registry if you don't know what you're doing. :) :) You are a brave lad! Search/replace globally in registry (especially for people like me who are fast typer...

Re: I'm all for it
Last Access Time and Creation Time are not supported in Panels and Find window (yet). Would be nice to have this feature in a next version of SS, to make the best filemanager even better :-) Snowdear Last Access time is NTFS proprietary, is it not? I dont think FAT has such a thing. TBH, I personal...

Re: Backspace key behaviour
There is a problem IMO with the backspace key which sometimes drives me crazy! Let's say you're browsing c:\windows and you press 'T','E' to focus the "temp" directory. If you want to browse back to the parent folder (c:\) you can do it by pressing: - <alt>+<left arrow> - <esc>+<backspace...

[...]the betas are totally usable and stable and they renew them when they expire, and you can export configs, etc. It is seamless transition from beta to beta. Would you rather have a buggy program as a 'final' ? not me. That's it! And the SS beta's are much more better, usable and stable than mos...

It's going to be released in summer 06. It's a good thing we testers encounter problems and report them so the release version is improved. If you look at the roadmap the new features won't be implemented for 2.5 Just a few months from now so i'm sure you can wait. If not then switch to TC You know...

I tried to configure SS so that Photoshop7 starts and load the highlighted image file when pressing F4. I post this solution if someone else of you has the same problem. ...after I stared PS frome the command line with all parameters I found out, that I have to change some arguments. I don't know w...

Re: Right-Click menu problem
Hello, I do have a small problem with v2.5 beta 10 and would be glad if someone can confirm it: Please select a file in the left panel (simple click), then click once into the right panel (right panel becomes active). Then right-click the selected file in the left panel again (without clicking anyw...

Re: Some productivity tips
Here're my comments: #1 - Assign the SS shortcut a hotkey. [...] Allow only one instance of SS at a time. In this way you can use WIN+S to bring up SS at ANY time -- verycool! I do _not_ use this, because with more SS instances I'm able to do different jobs / administer several projects at the same...
